So for the first my device is 'up to date' according to the first option presented.

As for the option of going on the Device Manager, it did update a couple of drivers but nothing has changed.

As I mentioned before, this is not a particular issue with this specific speaker, it also happens with the UE boom (to give an example). And with Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile and android.
Maybe its a feature that Microsoft ever thought of?

Drivers for the devices are manufactured by device manufacturers.

Hence I would suggest you to go to the manufacturers website and download the software and install it in compatibility mode and see if it helps in resolving the issue.

Now, to install in Compatibility Mode, follow these steps:

a. Locate the executable file (.exe file) for the driver installation program.
b. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.
c. In the Package NameProperties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.
d. Click to select the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows 8 with which it is compatible with in the Run this program in compatibility mode for list, and then click OK.
e. Double-click the executable file to start the installation program.

The only problem is that - at least this one speaker - there is no specific software.

The Bluetooth speaker just connects without needing of any manufacturer's software. At least I was not required to do such thing.
Once again, everything with the speaker (connection and sound) works perfectly. The issue presented by me, might just be a lacking feature.

I would suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the Bluetooth speaker as it might be an issue with the Compatibility of the driver of the Bluetooth speaker with Windows 10.Drivers are provided by the manufacturer of the devices.

It seems odd how a manufacturer wouldn't develop the proper drivers for the most popular OS of all.

I read somewhere else, someone having the same experience, just with another BT speaker and Android.

This is obviously not a big issue nor a bug in my opinion. Maybe something that Microsoft and Google have not addressed the same way Apple did..?
In the eventuality of finding a solution, I shall share it here.
